1) “My name is … and I’m an addict.”
Yes, and being one will continue to be true as long as that phrase is repeated for decades to come. Words are very powerful, perhaps it is past time to drop this phrase. Repeatedly calling one’s self an addict is to reinforce the idea.
2) Coffee and Cigarettes are provided because they are fine.
Our drugs of choice are OK, just don’t do the ones we don’t like.
3) Remove religion from the equation.
Not going to be a popular idea, but one that will broaden the scope of people that want to attend once religion has been removed from the recovery process. A process which does not involve religion.
